Privacy Policy

How Caro Bathrooms handles your information, what we do with it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are

Caro Bathrooms designs, supplies and installs bathrooms in East Kilbride and the surrounding areas. We are the data controller for the information described below, which means we decide how and why it is used.

To contact us about anything in this policy, use the form on our contact page.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us. If you fill in an enquiry form on this site, we receive:

  • Your name
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address, if you give one
  • Your postcode, if you give one
  • The type of work you are enquiring about
  • Anything you write in the message box

Our web host also keeps standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and browser type, which are used to keep the site running and secure.

This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not track you across other websites.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange a survey or appointment, and prepare a quote. Our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services.

We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not send marketing unless you ask us to.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing. It is shared only with:

  • Our job management system, which stores enquiries, quotes and job records so we can run the work. It acts on our instructions only.
  • Our web hosting provider, which operates the servers this site runs on.
  • Anyone we are legally required to share it with, such as a court or a regulator.

Where a supplier needs to be involved to fulfil your order, for example to arrange a delivery, we share only what is needed for that.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not become a job, we keep it for up to 12 months so we can pick the conversation back up if you get in touch again. If it becomes a job, we keep the records for as long as we need them for accounting, warranty and legal purposes, which is normally six years.

Where it is held

Your information is held on servers within the UK or the European Economic Area. Where any provider we use processes data outside that area, it is done under the safeguards required by UK data protection law.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong
  • Delete it, where we do not need to keep it
  • Restrict or object to how we use it
  • Provide it in a portable format

Ask through our contact page and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling their helpline on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page. Please check back from time to time.
